I have had a heaviness on my heart for a few days. I’ve been reflecting on the verse that says we are all members of the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12). Each part of that body has its own work to do, and every part needs the other. The ears hear, and the eyes see, for the whole body of Christ to function as it should.
What has been weighing on my heart is this: we all need each other, regardless of social status. A CEO of a company needs her maid or nanny to take care of the housework. While the maid or nanny may not be able to make executive decisions, the executive needs her for the essential work at home. It’s not a basic task when you realize she is also a part of the body of Christ. In her capacity, she is fulfilling a burden that is in the heart of Christ.
God called you to be a significant person in society, and to fulfill that role, you needed someone to manage your home and children. So, He put the burden of managing homes on your house help or nanny. She is still a vital part of the body of Christ, even as she works in the capacity of a house help.
This is what I felt in my spirit to share. Let’s learn to love and appreciate our domestic workers as they do the work of God in our homes. Have a blessed day.
