Balancing My Financial Fire

5 May 20268 June 2025

Planning my finances feels a lot like tending a fire. If I pile on too much fuel at once, the flames roar out of control, burning too hot and fast, leaving nothing but ashes behind. But if I don’t add enough, the fire sputters, leaving me cold and struggling to keep warm. It’s not about having endless fuel or burning wild—it’s about finding that steady, careful balance where the fire glows strong and steady, giving me warmth and light over time.

Money is the same. If I throw everything I have at it all at once—spending wildly or trying to grow my savings too quickly—I risk burning through resources or getting overwhelmed. But if I hold back too much or avoid planning, I can end up feeling stuck, unable to meet my needs or grow. The key is to tend to my finances thoughtfully, adding just enough fuel regularly, knowing when to hold back and when to invest.

This way, my financial fire can keep me secure and supported—not roaring out of control, but reliably warm, steady, and alive. It’s about respect and care, patience and attention, learning to feed what I need without burning too bright or fading away.
