God always protects His faithful ones. As 1 Samuel 2:9 (NLT) says, “He will protect his faithful ones, but the wicked will disappear in darkness. No one will succeed by strength alone.” This verse reminds us that relying solely on our own strength is not only fruitless but also separates us from God’s protection and guidance. Those who trust in their own abilities are likened to the wicked because they have chosen to live independently of God, the very source of life and strength.
When God spoke to Moses at Mount Horeb, He declared Himself as “I Am That I Am” (Exodus 3:14), revealing that He is everything we will ever need. He is our healer, protector, provider, and shelter. Disconnecting from God leads us to depend on our own strength, which the Bible warns against. Jesus Himself teaches in John 15:5 (NLT), “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me, you can do nothing.” If we sever our connection with God, we become like branches thrown into the fire—spiritually dead and unproductive.
The wicked, who rely on themselves and ignore God, will ultimately fade into darkness. But for the faithful, God is our shield, our firm foundation, and our hiding place. He covers us from all sides, ensuring that we are not just protected but deeply rooted in His love and provision. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT) also reminds us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
When we choose to live in dependence on God, we thrive under His care. Let us continue to give God all the glory, remaining faithful and connected to Him, knowing that He will never stop protecting and providing for us. Thank you, Jesus, for being our everything.
